LEARNING TECHNOLOGY

Learning Technologies has been a priority at The Pines for many years. Interactive whiteboards are placed in many classrooms across the school. This allows students to be involved in a more multisensory approach to learning. One is strategically placed in the resource centre so that all classes can use this tool across all areas of the curriculum.

Many portable tools can be accessed in classrooms through the resource centre. Students have access to digital cameras, digital video cameras, flip cameras and web cams. This allows for classes to be involved many different digital programs.

Staff are encouraged to plan integrated units of work with a focus on learning technologies with the teacher librarian. Support is offered to staff in many different ways to continually improve their skills and knowledge of certain programs.
